Encouraging Ourselves

The bible tells us to encourage ourselves in the Lord. At times, when we are feeling fearful, depressed, discouraged or blue it’s good to hear some encouraging words. So, the place where I go to hear them is either in my bible, at church, while praying and meditating or through interacting with a friend.

Scriptures

Commitment to Reading the Bible Daily

Consider making a commitment to read God’s word and spend time in prayer every day before pursuing your own interests and hobbies. It’s very important that we hide God’s word in our heart.

Take at least 10 minutes today to read God’s word. You may want to start by reading John 14. If we truly love the Lord, we will obey His words. In order to obey, we must know what “the word” says.
