Praying to God Continually

From the time when I awake until I go to sleep, I am continually praying to God. This is not something that I do on my knees though. Occasionally, I will bow before the Lord, but for the most part I just keep in constant contact with God in my mind and with my spirit.

Praying Longer

Have you ever timed yourself while praying? I did and decided to start praying longer. Something very special happens when we purpose to stay in the place of communing with the Lord.

Jeremiah 29:13
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

The key word in our text today is “earnestly.” Sometimes I will set a goal during my prayer time to stay and pray longer. When I have the thought to stop praying and go do something else, I will commit to stay and pray even longer. Then when the thought comes again, I will stay even longer. Continually Converse with God in Prayer

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Be joyful always; pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances- for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

The key phrase of the above scripture which I would like to emphasize is: “pray continually”. Praying continually is not something that we are naturally motivated to do, but we must strive to do it. Jesus often withdrew from others to pray. read Continually Converse With God

God’s House Being a Place of Prayer

We gather together in the church, the house of God. When I go to church, I seek to find an intimate place to just focus on the Lord. I try to accomplish this wherever it is that I decided to sit that day. I will often close my eyes my eyes, block everyone else out and just zone in on the Lord.
