Protecting Your Spiritual Heart

During trying times, stay focused on the Lord rather than the difficult situation. This helps protect your heart. He has said He will never leave or forsake us. Communication comes next because wisdom, at times, is found in the council of others. It is good to reason things out sometimes, being careful to not gossip or criticize. Keep a guard on your heart today and protect the call God has placed on your life.

Prov 23: 20-23
My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings. Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh. Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flows the springs of life.

It is important that we maintain in good spiritual condition. When our heart is troubled and we are bothered by many things, we must do all that we know to do to guard our heart. For the Lord has placed spiritual truths in our hearts so that we can share them with others.
Yes, through you God can share with others these things and lives will be changed. We should begin with prayer. This gives the Holy Spirit permission to help us.
The bible says let not your heart be troubled but put your trust in God. This is how we protect our hearts by not worrying and trusting in the Lord.

People Taking Advantage of a Christians Good Nature

When people have treated us in a poor way, there can be many kinds of things that go through our thoughts that we would consider doing to cause disgrace to happen in their lives. Just the other day, I had a brother from my church take advantage of my good nature by agreeing to give me rent money for his room in the amount of five hundred dollars per month and then he ripped me off. He lived with me for a period of about eight months and fell behind on his obligations. He eventually moved out owing me one month’s rent and promised me that he would get the money to me. That was several months ago and he has not returned even one of my thirty or so phone calls. I seriously considered contacting his pastor and made a decision not to after God brought this verse to my attention through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Matt 1:18-19

This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Because Joseph, her husband, was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.

As I noticed that Joseph did not want to expose his wife to public disgrace, I discounted the idea completely of setting up a time to meet with this man’s minister and bringing shame upon my friend. Our scripture says that Joseph was a righteous man. That’s what I desire to be also, a godly man of integrity. There are specific methods of handling troublesome folks that the Lord would have us do or not do. Prayer is the best way to overcome things like this. So, I have made a commitment to pray for this man regularly. This is the best way to handle situations where people take advantage of our good and kind nature as Christians.
