Praying for One Hour

Many times I have purposed to pray for exactly one hour. Spending time communing with His heavenly father seemed to be one of the qualities of Jesus. When Jesus was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, he desperately needed the support of his friends. He pleaded with them to stay awake and pray for just an hour.

Collisions 4:12
“Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.”

I have a very dear friend who prays often for me. Have you ever designated an hour to pray in your busy schedule? The most amazing experiences happen when we purpose to spend quality time with the Holy Spirit through prayer. Something that I have noticed is that I begin to pray for many people. Whenever I do this I reach a point during this special time wherein faces of friends begin to appear as I am praying for them. This generally occurs after I’ve confessed my wrongs and then prayed for all of my needs. The word of God is very clear about this subject; we are supposed to pray for one another.
Consider spending some extra time in prayer today lifting up your friends’ needs to the Lord.
